The goal of this project was to create a fully functional 1200-square-foot guest house that would also act as an owners’ retreat. The retreat would capture the qualities of the wooded lot while having a visual connection the main house. The house is nestled into the hillside, with the roof slope matching that of the hill. The bent plate roof is fully exposed on the underside to the upper level living space, and clerestory windows below it offer views of the tree tops while bringing in light from all directions. |
